John David "J.D." Lawrence is a native of Alabama. He received a bachelor's degree in Social Science with a minor in political science from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama in 1998. He obtained his law degree in 2002 from the Birmingham School of Law. During law school, Mr. Lawrence clerked for the Honorable N. Daniel Rogers, Circuit Court Judge for Jefferson County Alabama. In that capacity, he received front line exposure to innumerable jury trials as well as gained insight into the inner workings of the judicial system.
Mr. Lawrence was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September 2002. Since that time, his practice has been concentrated in representing victims in personal injury litigation, wrongful death litigation and criminal defense. Mr. Lawrence participated in and helped try to verdict a wrongful death case which, at $20 Million, is one of the largest dram shop jury verdicts in Alabama history.
Mr. Lawrence is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, Birmingham Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association.
