Alabama Ortho Evra Lawyers

At Gulas and Stuckey, P.C., our legal practice focuses on obtaining compensation for injuries or deaths from dangerous or defective drugs and pharmaceutical products. One such product is Ortho Evra, a birth control patch developed by Johnson and Johnson-Ortho. It works by administering hormones through the skin and into the bloodstream. It was hailed as more convenient than the pill. Unfortunately, since its introduction, Ortho Evra has been linked to death, stroke, and heart attacks in young women.

If you have been using the Ortho Evra patch and have suffered a stroke or heart attack, or had a family member die unexpectedly after using the patch, contact our Birmingham Ortho Evra lawyers today. You may be eligible to file a claim to recover compensation for your injury or the wrongful death of a family member.

History of Ortho Evra

Introduced in 2002, the Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch has since been shown to contain high levels of estrogen that can lead to strokes, embolisms, and heart attacks. In November of 2005 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning, indicating that women using the birth control patch were three times more likely to die or suffer a stroke than women using birth control pills. Nearly twenty women have died in the past two years from strokes or blood clots attributable to Ortho Evra side effects. Nevertheless, the patch continues to be marketed heavily, targeting teens and women in their 20’s. Despite growing evidence of the danger of this product, there has been no Ortho Evra recall.

Ortho Evra Lawsuits

Our Birmingham lawyers have obtained significant verdicts or settlements against many drug manufacturers and helped people like you get the compensation they deserve. We use our experience to help women and their families who used Ortho Evra and who became ill or died from using the Ortho Evra birth control patch.
